This afternoon, Gov. Chris Gregoire signed the new Discover Pass legislation that allows you to enter a second vehicle license number on your existing pass. New annual passes will provide two lines for two vehicles.
The Discover Pass is your ticket to recreation on millions of acres of state lands managed by DNR, Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission, and Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife—including state parks, water-access points, heritage sites, wildlife and natural areas, trails and trailheads. An annual pass costs $30. The one-day pass, which sells for $10, is not transferable between vehicles.
If you haven’t purchased a Discover Pass yet, you have a number of options to buy one:
- Purchase online.
- Purchase from one of nearly 600 recreation license vendors where state fishing and hunting licenses are sold.
- Purchase by phone at: 866-320-9933.
- When you renew your Washington State vehicle license through the Department of Licensing.
- At State Parks headquarters and region offices, and at some state parks when staff is available.
The three agencies have updated the Discover Pass Frequently Asked Questions page with information from the new legislation.
