DNR and volunteer crews have been busy over the past two weeks actively building a single-track motorcycle trail at Reiter Foothills Forest. They have been making a lot of progress, and now we want to show the trail to you all.
When: Saturday, June 23
Time: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Deer Flats Mainline and Reiter Road intersection
This comes as exciting news to those active in the ORV community who know the Reiter Foothills and the famed Reiter Pit. Join workers as DNR and volunteers continue their partnership to turn part of the 10,000-acre Reiter Foothills Forest into a recreation site that will offer activities to a wide variety of outdoor enthusiasts in a safe and environmentally responsible environment. Members of the ORV, hiking, mountain biking, and equestrian communities are invited to join the efforts as volunteers are key to the success of reopening Reiter.
On Saturday, June 23 join DNR staff and other volunteers in a field tour of the newly constructed single track motorcycle trails at Reiter. This will also be a volunteer work party day, where folks can help with hauling rock onto the trails under construction. DNR will provide all the required tools necessary. Please bring a high visibility vest/shirt, hard hat, gloves, lunch, and water. DNR will have some vests and hard hats to share, but supply is somewhat limited.
Besides the event this Saturday, there will be trail construction events on Saturday, July 7 and Sunday, July 29. Come on out with your hard hat and lunch and help us build a recreation site that will delight users for generations to come. Volunteer and your day’s work will get you a voucher for a complimentary Discover Pass!
