The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will reopen the Walker Valley off-road vehicle (ORV) recreation area on October 13 at 6:00 a.m., just in time for the weekend!
The 36 miles of trails were closed on October 8, 2012 due to the 24-acre Roaming Roe wildfire on DNR-managed land east of Mt. Vernon in Skagit County. The fire is now contained, allowing DNR to reopen this popular recreation site ahead of schedule.
We would like to thank everyone for their patience and cooperation in this unfortunate closure.
